Green-e
Green-e is a leading independent certification and verification program for renewable energy and greenhouse gas emission reductions in the retail market. It has three certification programs: Green-e Climate which is a voluntary certification program that was launched in 2007 that sets consumer-protection and environmental integrity standards for the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions sold in the voluntary market. Green-e Energy is an independent certification and verification program for renewable energy. Green-e Marketplace is a program that allows companies to display the logo when they have purchased a large amount of renewable energy and passed verification standards. Smart Wood Certified Forestry The purpose of the Rainforest Alliance’s Smart Wood Program is to recognize good forest managers through credible independent certification of forestry practices. The Rainforest Alliance Smart Wood Program (referred to as Smart Wood) is a certification accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council. The purpose of these standards is to provide forest managers, landowners, forest industry, scientists, environmentalists and the general public with information on the aspects of forest management operations that Smart Wood evaluates to make certification decisions in the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification system. |
